02-April-2020 LAGIRS 2020 Refunds

Dear 2020 LAGIRS prospective participant,

We are in the process of terminating the conference. In spite of this, we will strive to maintain this community alive. As previously announced, we will reimburse your registration fees minus a small 3% handling fee. If you have one or two papers accepted and connected to your registration, we are working towards the joint publication of your articles in the ISPRS Annals/Archives and in IEEExplore. Such publication incurs additional expenses and the amount per paper is USD 50.00.

So here are the instructions:

  1. Please send the details for the reimbursement to this email address: refunds@2020.lagirs.org
  2. If you do not want your work published, you will receive the amount paid, less the handling fee
  3. If you want one or both of your papers connected to your registration to be published, please let us know which papers(s) you would like to have published, and we will deduct another USD 50.00 per paper and reimburse the rest

Regards,
Organizing Committee

16-March-2020 LAGIRS 2020 Canceled

We regret to inform all authors and attendees that the Local Organizing Committee of LAGIRS 2020, in accordance with the sponsoring organizations, decided to finally cancel the conference, following the declaration of COVID-19 as a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

We are currently exploring the options to publish the conference proceedings in IEEExplore as well as the ISPRS Annals and Archives series, and we will come back to you with a final decision in approximately one week. Be assured that the conference is going to refund the registration fees to all registrants. A web page will be set up (after March 22) to collect all required information.

Best regards,
Organizing Committee

10-March-2020 LAGIRS 2020 Suspended

Dear Participants,

The Organizing Committee decided to suspend the conference LAGIRS 2020 due the recently development of the COVID-19 in Chile. Unfortunately, last week the COVID-19 rapidly evolved in the country and the Health Ministry had activated protocols to try to restrain the expansion of the disease. We received yesterday (Monday 9th), instructions indicating that any person who has a history of recent travel to countries with active outbreaks of COVID-19 should not attend the Higher Education Institution and will remain in quarantine at their home for up to 14 days after exposure to countries with outbreaks. The list of countries to date includes China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Italy and Iran and is updated daily on the website the Health Ministry, adding more countries. Of course, every country has their own restrictions and we already have some cancelations.

We apologize for all the inconvenience this may cause but is a matter far beyond our hands. We will provide more details in the coming days.

Best regards,
Organizing Committee
